Metasaga + Schools of Ambition

Metasaga - Find yourself in the world around you.

THe next step for Metasaga looks very interesting. My colleagues from Orkney who took part in the original Metasaga have recommended that the tool be used as part of Orkney's school of ambition project.

Each of the 6 high schools will send a delegation of pupils and staff to a central conference. All of the participants will already have completed leadership development work. Their first session of the conference will be on Vision & Values delivered by Janet Trevanion. The second session will be Metasaga.

The group will take part in a virtual or real Metasaga. They will then explore the catchment area of their own school and identify key stopping points. Pupils will research each stop. The school will create a Metasaga in their community. There will be a live version and a virtual version on the internet.

There will be three levels of questions:
1. For the tourist
2. For the pupils
3. For staff development

Each school will invite a neighbouring school to come and trial their Metasaga. Participants can then post their response on line.

A strategy group will then choose an activity from each of the schools to create an Orkney wide Metasaga. This will also be posted on the internet using the Education service's website.

We will end up with 7 Metasagas, one for each area in Orkney. These will be created by their Learning Community working together in their own environment.

A medley of Metasagas.
