Michael Schrage wrote 1989 that it is probably more correct to say that the tools create us than that we create the tools.
Tools like Facebook or mobile phone networks were created by people who had no idea what the real impact would be.
The mobile network mast here create patterns of change of which we have no idea of where this will lead to in the future.
It is now bringing change to societies. Estimates here in East Africa indicates that for every 10% of mobile phone penetration, this creates a growth of approximately 1%.
Is the development in North Africa signs of something profoundly new to happen?
